VASPRA GROUP : HISTORY
The birth of a legacy
Vaspra group was born sometime in 1998. It wasn't conceived in a day or two. It is the culmination of the dreams of people who shared a common urge, the urge to excel and to create. In 1998, Vaspra group was brought into existence by two individuals, Prashanth Ellina and Vikraman Vasudevan. The name "Vaspra" was suggested by Vikraman. Why he chose this is a mystery ... even now! But somehow this name caught on. As we used it more and more, talked about it day after day, we started liking it . When the group was created, it wasn't meant to be a professional group. We planned to have a loosely bound group. People interested in programming could join us and share their views. Unfortunately, we were soon to discover that we wouldn't have much company!. 1998 was the year when Prashanth and Vikraman were in 10th grade. Their keen interest in computers and computer programming motivated them to learn more. Prashanth had been introduced to computer programming in 3rd grade. By the time he came to 5th grade, he started learning BASIC programming. Prashanth's father permitted him to access his laptop (HP Omnibook). Thus, he tried out programs in BASIC and grew more proficient in it by the day. Prashanth met Vikraman when he was in 10th standard. Vikraman was motivated by his elder brother to learn computer programming. He learnt BASIC programming. It was at this time that Prashanth and Vikraman met. They found very soon that they had a lot in common. They started working together on small programs in QBASIC.
