VASPRA GROUP : HISTORY

Vaspra gets down to business

Whenever Prashanth and Sriram got the time to work on computers (time usually gained by 'missing' college), they made sure they put it to good use. A variety of topics were discussed during this formative period for Vaspra....girls, chicks, females....and about software development. You get the picture. It was during this time that Prashanth saw the opportunity to finally work on his dream project -Maya. (You can check out the research section for more information on Project Maya). Prashanth and Sriram, along with the other members of Vaspra were still working on their individual ideas. Though the concept and the entity called Vaspra existed, it was yet to take firm shape. Engineering college wasn't really helpful when it came to software development. All the members of Vaspra faced problems at college. Engineering isn't exactly a cup of tea. But still the Vaspra members managed to keep in touch and talk about new ideas and possible new directions for Vaspra. It was this period that acted as a fertile bed of ideas, several of which were later made into successful Vaspra products.

It was around this time that Vaspra gained another member. Prashanth, who was the official talent scout for Vaspra, managed to come across somebody who fitted one of the two possible qualifications to be a Vaspra member.

- Be exceptionally good at programming (or)

- Be an exceptionally good looking girl. :-)

Anand Kumar, who was their classmate, impressed the Vaspra group with the sheer brilliance and novelty of his programming skills. He became a Vaspra member instantaneously. At the time of joining, Anand was working in Microsoft Visual Basic.
